Requirements and qualifications

• Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of BE GAAP (IFRS is a plus)
• Minimum 7 years’ experience.
• Thorough understanding of Finance processes and activities.

• Excellent communication skills in English (other EU language are advantages).
• Ability to work independently and to prioritise in order to deliver the expected results
• Ability to manage and to develop the accounting “team” (external or internal)
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a multi-cultural & multi-site environment.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, stress resistant.
• Rigorous with analytical skills, creative thinking, problem solving and flexibility.

• Hands on attitude
• Computer literate (Excel is a must).

Purpose of the job:

  • Fully responsible for the accounting of Air Belgium entity in Belgium
  • In charge of the monthly/yearly closing with reconciliation of all accounts and on time reporting to Business Financial Controller and CFO
  • Ensure that all accounting documents are booked on time, correctly allocated and following BE GAAP
  • Follow up cash collection and manage supplier’s payments as per due date and in line with the cash forecast
  • Manage the accounting “team” (currently external and expected to move to internal in future)
  • Close collaboration with the Business Financial Controller to setup improvements in internal controls, accounting accuracy, internal/external reporting, external audit, budget and rolling forecast, cash forecast, etc.
  • Define/setup appropriate accounting procedure in line with the business of the company from start-up to mature.
