Main activities and responsibilities
Training organisation
- To ensure that the training activities of Air Belgium are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements, and any additional requirements as established by Air Belgium, and to ensure the good functioning of the compliance monitoring system within the training activities of the company.
- To co-ordinate all questions and matters relating to flight operational standards, regulations/provisions and training in order to ensure a safe, efficient and cost effective operation.
- To ensure in co-operation with crew planning manager and the flight operations administrative supervisor that all training and checks of the crew members and Ground/Flight Operational Personnel are conducted in due time, in order to guarantee that the applicable regulations and the provision of the AOC are satisfied.
Operations Manual
- To co-ordinate with the Flight Operations Postholder, the Fleet Managers and the Head of Cabin Crews, the contents and to hold editorial responsibility for the Operations Manual Part D and the training relevant subjects of Operational Manual Part A, B and C.
- To establish training syllabi and check forms for all required training and checks, in accordance with the applicable regulations and with the provision of the AOC.
Trainers Management
- To select, appoint and instruct Training Staff in close co-operation with the Flight Operations Postholder, the Fleet managers and the Head of Cabin Crews and to ensure that Training Staff maintain the highest possible standards of performance, in order to provide the company with a competent and highly motivated training team.
- To ensure that Air Belgium has enough instructors, TRE, LTC and support personnel to administer the training and evaluation programmes.
Recruitment process
- To examine the professional qualification of applicants, to recommend or discourage their employment (the final decision resting with Flight Operations Postholder).
- To establish the professional prerequisites concerning employment, training or upgrading of crew members and Ground/Flight Operational Personnel, in co-operation with the Flight Operations Postholder, the Fleet Managers and the Head of Cabin Crews, in order to provide the company with personal having the best profile for the duty to perform in the interest of safety and economy.
- To be member of any selection committee as defined for each level of selection in order to guaranty a high standard and a high level of competency among the personal recruited by or promoted within Air Belgium SA.

Requirements and qualifications
- Be experienced enough to obtain the BCAA approval as Training Manager
- Be/have been an active line pilot with the status of commander during several years (10-15 years)
- Possess relevant experience to the job of Training Manager
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English and French.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, to prioritize, to be proactive and stress resistant.
- Able to listen to subordinators / Crews and negotiate calmly in every situation
- Computer literate: Microsoft tools (mainly Excel and Access).
- Ability to prepare and deliver comprehensive presentation also essential.
